Directions: Mill Cove runs parallel to the St. John's River near the Dames Point Bridge on 9A.

Description: Mill Cove is a large shallow body of water populated by some significant grass islands. The west portion is accesible via the Lonnie Wurn Ramp (COJ), and the eastern portion is accesible via the New Berlin Ramp (COJ) or a paddle from the Lonnie Wurn ramp. The grass islands have some nice oyster beds and sand bars that hold reds, trout, and flounder.

Difficulty: Moderate. Since Mill Cove is such a large body of water directly off the river it is exposed to wind and can have significant currents. However it can also be quite calm and straightforward to fish.

Launches: There are two launch locations for Mill Cove

• L1 - The Lonnie Wurn Ramp (COJ). It has ample parking, facilities, and a nice ramp suitable for kayaks, canoes, or small boats.
• L2 - The New Berlin Ramp (COJ). It has ample parking, facilities, and a nice ramp suitable for kayaks, canoes, or small boats. Exercise EXTREME caution if you are attempting to cross the river to enter the eastern portion of Mill Cove. If anyone has any better launches for the eastern portion of Mill Cove please let us know.
